Low-level flights expected over coming weeks

East Kootenay residents can expect to see low flying helicopters as Fortis BC inspects its natural gas lines.

Talon Helicopters and LaSen Inc. will be conducting flights during daylight hours between Sept. 23 to Oct. 23.

The helicopters will be using LiDAR detection technology to inspect the pipelines.

Flight time over a single area will be minimal and there will be no ground activity related to the flights.

Flights will be taking place near Elkford, Sparwood, Fernie, Morrisey, Jaffray, Elko, Galloway, Kimberley and Cranbrook.

Flights are weather dependent.
