Cranbrook water consumption down, reservoir holding

Cranbrook residents are hogging less water with consumption lower than past years.

So, far this summer, 548,910,800 gallons have been consumed.

It’s a slight increase over last year, but city staff say hydrant flushing didn’t take place in 2024, and there were stricter restrictions.

The 2025 total is 95 million gallons less than 2023.

The city says shared conservation efforts, operational improvements, and community awareness have been making a significant difference.

The water levels at the Phillips Reservoir have actually gone up in recent weeks by 1.9 inches.

Stage 1 restrictions will remain in place for now.

Under Stage 1 watering restrictions even numbered addresses may water Monday, Thursday, or Saturday, while odd numbered addresses may water Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday.
