Unless significant precipitation occurs, the City of Cranbrook says residents should expect below average water availability.
As of May 15, the snowpack on Moyie Mountain was at 32 per cent of normal down significantly from 62 per cent on May 1.
City staff say the snowpack is 22 per cent higher than normal but the spring thaw has been quicker.
Cranbrook water levels are holding for now, with the Phillips Reservoir currently full.
The city is sticking with Stage 1 watering restrictions for now.
Stage 2 restrictions will only be implemented if the reservoir drops to 80 per cent capacity and is not being replenished appropriately.
