The Cranbrook Fire Department and BC Wildfire Service have gotten control of a fire at the edge of the City’s northern boundary.
The fire was sparked on Tuesday and grew to approximately 30 metres by 60 metres.
Fire Chief Scott Driver says it was starting to gain momentum when crews arrived.
Four members from the BC Wildfire Service and six members from the Cranbrook Fire Department worked together to get the blaze under control.
“We are thankful for the ongoing support and expertise of the BC Wildfire Service members that support us here in the Southeast Fire Centre,” Driver said.
“We work closely with staff at the zone office and appreciate the commitment to community safety that they demonstrate year after year.”
The fire is believed to be human caused according to the BC Wildfire Service.
