Cranbrook exploring build project with Habitat for Humanity

City of Cranbrook staff have been working with Habitat for Humanity since September 2024 to collaborate on a housing project.

Council has granted Habitat For Humanity’s request to prepare a proposal to the city for a potential residential housing project at 2600 4th Street South.

Planning manager Rob Veg says the lot wouldn’t need much work.

“It’s essentially a single family sized lot and it was identified as having good potential for development readiness,” he said.

Some site investigations would need to be completed to ensure the site is suitable.

If council approves the plan, the parcel of land would be donated for the project.

The city has worked with Habitat for Humanity before, most recently in 2014.
