Cancelled prescribed burn now set for Saturday

A prescribed burn near Kimberley that was supposed to go ahead last weekend will now take place on Saturday, April 26.

The previous prescribed burn was cancelled due to the weather.

The burn will take place on 20 hectares of city-owned land in the Levirs Avenue/Nature Park area.

The burn will be targeting cured grass, branches, twigs, and litter from shrubs.

Residents can expect smoke in the area for a few days and access to nearby trails will be limited.

The burn is dependent on the weather and could be postponed again.
