Ghostriders captain commits to university

Fernie Ghostriders star forward and captain Taylor Haggerty is university bound after signing with the Drury University Panthers.

Haggerty finished his third season in the KIJHL and put on a show scoring 63 points in 43 regular season games.

“The Ghostriders helped me mature into a young adult and taught me a lot of life lessons throughout my time here,” said Haggerty.

“My teammates and coaches pushed me to my limits and demanded the best from me every day, which greatly contributed to earning this opportunity.”

Head coach Chad Scharff says he’ll be missed.

“Taylor is an unbelievable talent and was a true leader of our program,” said Scharff.

“Our organization is very proud of all Taylor’s accomplishments. We wish Taylor and his family continued success with the Drury Panthers.”

He will join the Drury Panthers in the fall.
