Cranbrook RCMP investigating sudden death

Cranbrook RCMP is seeking public information as they investigate a sudden death found in the downtown area.

Police officials say the body was discovered in a parked vehicle in Cranbrook’s downtown area shortly before midnight on April 13, 2025.

Officers blocked access to 10th Avenue between Baker Street and 1st Street South, but it has since reopened.

Police say they are aware of rumours circulating about this incident that are inconsistent with the circumstances.

Cranbrook RCMP continue to investigate the cause of death and anyone with information, CCTV footage or dash cam video is urged to contact the detachment at 250-489-3471.
