Angel Flight grounds main plane for maintenance

Angel Flight East Kootenay will be operating without their Cessna 414A until early April for essential maintenance.

Angel Flight will still have flights but they will have to use a smaller Cessna 182 they recently acquired.

The aircraft can only fit four people including the pilot, so the number of patients will be limited over the next few weeks.

The smaller plane does not have de-icing technology so flights will be more weather-dependent.

“Although the reliable aircraft will not be available, we will attempt to do flights back on single-engine aircraft,” said Angel Flight founder and lead pilot Brent Bidston.

Angel Flight is encouraging passengers to try and book medical appointments and flights for mid-April or later to help with availability.
