Dynamiters captain gets Div. 1 scholarship

Kimberley Dynamiters defenceman Trey Stephenson has committed to the University of Jamestown Jimmies for the 2025/26 season.

The Nitros captain led the blueline in points in the regular season with 36 in 23 games.

He says he’s improved his mobility over his time with the team.

“It has become something I excel at,” he said.

“My time in Kimberley is something I’ll never forget. I grew as a person and a player. The constant positive pressure the coaches put on me to get better every day allowed me to grow as a player.”

Stephenson has one point in three playoffs games so far in their first series matchup with the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.

The team is up two games to one.
