Mens Avalanche get set for CCAA championship

The College of the Rockies Avalanche men’s team is in Manitoba getting ready for the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Championship.

The Avalanche are currently ranked sixth in the country and will behave their first game against the third ranked Humber Hawks.

Avalanche head coach Cisco Ferraro says they are just looking at their first opponent.

“You put all your focus into the quarter final and prepare for one opponent which for us is the Humber Hawks,” he said.

“You really try to fine tune yourself and try to make sure that you’re playing at your highest level. You try to adjust on the fly to your next opponent.”

They will need to win every game to win the gold medal.

“We’re guaranteed three matches but it is single elimination knockout if you want to win the gold medal,” Ferraro added.

Game 1 against the Hawks will be played on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
