NDP candidates to debate in Cranbrook

Two candidates looking to become the NDP nominee for the federal Columbia–Kootenay–Southern Rockies riding will hash it out in a debate on Saturday.

Kallee Lins and Keith Page are both vying for the candidacy.

Lins is the executive director of the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council and Page is a Nelson city councillor and a small business owner.

Last month, the two candidates took part in a debate in Trail.

The debate will take place at the Royal Alexandra Hall on Saturday at 7 p.m.

They will also be meeting with Fernie residents at a coffee chat at the Park Place Lodge on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. and with Kimberley residents on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Stonefire Pizzeria.

NDP members in the riding will be voting for their preferred candidate on Feb. 27.

To vote in the nomination race, members must have been in good standing as of Jan. 13.
