Rockies’ veterans coming in clutch

The Columbia Valley Rockies have been playing well as of late and their core of veteran players have played a large part.

Head coach Tayler Sincennes says their older leaders have been on a hot streak in recent weeks.

“I thought our older guys, our leadership group, did a good job of staying in the battles,” he said.

He says they were a major part of last week’s games especially.

“Kobe Mason had two goals in Golden and helped drive us to a win,” Sincennes added.

“Carter Velker picked up a big goal and Wyatt Wurtz and Teo Fath connected for a huge goal in Revelstoke late in the game to tie it up.”

Velker especially has had a good year.

He is leading the Rockies in both goals and points with 19 and 39 respectively.

The Rockies are getting set to face the Beaver Valley Nitehawks and Creston Valley Thunder Cats this coming weekend.
