Rockets hope to build momentum as playoff chase continues

The Golden Rockets are hoping a 7-4 win on Saturday is the start to a successful final push in the regular season.

Their high-scoring game was against the Sicamous Eagles.

“Obviously nice to see some offence there with seven goals. I don’t think we’ve put in seven in a game all year,” said head coach Jed Houseman.

“The powerplay even struck a couple of times that night. It’s a good confidence builder for our group and hopefully, push us in the right direction.”

The Creston Valley Thunder Cats are their next opponent as well as the team they need to pass in the standings to make the playoffs.

Houseman says they need to capitalize.

“Creston is who we’re battling with here for that final playoff spot. The reality is we need to beat them,” he added.

“We play them two more times and we have got to find a way to get it done and if we play our game I think we can definitely beat them.”

The Rockets are fifth in the Eddie Mountain Division with 28 points, only one point behind Creston.
