Ghostriders bounce back after loss to Rockies

The Fernie Ghostriders started the week off rocky but regained their footing with two wins over the weekend.

Last Tuesday they were able to get a quick lead against the Columbia Valley Rockies but weren’t able to hold on to it.

“We let one slip away against Columbia Valley being up 3-0 in the first 12 minutes of the game and losing 7-4,” said head coach Chad Scharff.

The team looked to bounce back on the weekend and did just that, beating the Nelson Leafs 5-1 and the Chase Heat 4-2.

A lot of the focus was on our group heading into the weekend. I thought we had a really good response against Nelson in what I thought was maybe our most complete game,” Scharff added.

“The challenge for our group is always can we put a weekend together? Chase is a better team than their record shows and we were able to find a way to win that game as well so that was a huge plus.”

The Ghostriders are still second in the Eddie Mountain Division with 46 points seven short of the Kimberley Dynamiters.
