Part of Invermere hit with boil water notice

A water quality advisory is in effect until further notice for part of Invermere due to a water main break.

District officials say the water line broke on Saturday and has impacted 14th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue.

Residents in the area are asked to boil water before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, cooking, washing food or making ice.

All users are advised to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute or find a safe alternative water source.

The District also asks those impacted to use hand sanitizer after washing their hands.

The District of Invermere will notify the public once the repairs are completed and the water is safe to use.
