City warns of text scam

The City of Cranbrook is urging residents to be cautious of a text scam that has been targeting residents.

City staff say some residents have received text messages claiming that the person owes money on parking tickets.

The text doesn’t specifically say from the City of Cranbrook but does include a link in the message.

These messages should be reported as junk and deleted and you should not open the link.

Staff say the city will never text about a parking infraction.
