Elk Valley RCMP investigating Amazon locker break-in

Elk Valley RCMP is investigating a break-in of an Amazon storage locker, which resulted in a significant number of packages being stolen.

Police officials say the detachment received the call on Tuesday from a local Amazon delivery service.

The storage locker, located in the 5000 block of Highway 43 in Sparwood, was broken into sometime between 6 p.m. on Monday and 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

About 30 packages were stolen, but investigators do not know what was taken or who the orders belonged to.

Some of the items were moved by the suspects, but they were not taken. Police officials say they were seized alongside some other items left at the scene for possible forensic investigation.

CCTV coverage is limited in the area, but Elk Valley RCMP officials believe some people renting at the location may have set up their own security cameras or trail cameras around their property left for storage, which may provide some evidence for the theft.

“RCMP are looking for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity around the reported hours the theft could have occurred or may have recorded some activity on their personal security cameras left around their stored property or units,” said police.

Any information can be reported to the Elk Valley RCMP at 250-425-6233 or Crime Stoppers with reference to file 2025-57.
