The Salvation Army is encouraging residents to donate in person as the Canada Post strike continues.
Major Rick Robbins with the Cranbrook and Fernie Salvation Army says typically the majority of their donations come through the mail.
“It impacts us greatly as 60 per cent of our donations come in from the mail. We want to encourage donors to not let the mail strike keep them from donating,” he said.
“Please come down and bring it to our office or in one of our kettles.”
He says all donations received go directly back to help people in that community.
“Funds that are raised in the community stay in the community,” he added.
“Funds raised in Cranbrook stay here to help people in Cranbrook, while funds raised in Fernie stay to help people in Fernie.”
The Canada Post strike has been going on since Nov. 15.
In-person donations can be dropped off at 533 Slater Road in Cranbrook or 741 2nd Avenue in Fernie.
