JCI Kootenay to donate proceeds from Santa Claus Parade to Cranbrook Food Bank

In the spirit of the holiday season, JCI Kootenay will donate the proceeds from its 53rd annual Santa Claus Parade to the Cranbrook Food Bank.

“At JCI, we believe in the power of community,” said Rebecca Odnokon, Santa Parade Organizing Committee Chair.

“This holiday season, we wanted to make a meaningful difference by supporting the food bank in their mission to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.”

JCI officials say they chose to donate their proceeds to the Food Bank to help relieve some pressure during the holidays, as that is when demand is the highest.

“This is going to go towards making sure everyone is full and well-fed during the holidays,” said Odnokon.

“JCI is all about giving back to the community, and we thought it was a good way to give back and make sure people don’t go hungry over the holidays.”

The parade, an annual tradition in Cranbrook, will take place on Saturday, November 30 at 5:30 p.m.

“We have some great registration numbers from applicants this year, so the parade will be pretty amazing this year,” said Odnokon.

The public can see the parade as it makes its way through downtown Cranbrook.
