Postal contract talks remain stuck in neutral

Canada Post’s labour dispute has entered its 11th day with no immediate solution in sight.

The national mail carrier is down nearly 10 million parcels since the strike began, a number that is expected to increase the longer this goes on.

Talks continued over the weekend but with limited progress.

Canada Post says their recent contract proposals include seven-day-a-week parcel delivery and other important improvements.

The company has lost three billion dollars since 2018 and posted a 315-million-dollar loss before tax in the third quarter of this year.

Local CUPW branches continue to hit the picket lines this week.
