Cranbrook aquatic centre closing temporarily for column repairs

Cranbrook’s aquatic centre will be temporarily closed to the public as repairs are made to structural support columns.

Work is expected to take three weeks and the pool will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday to Friday starting next week on Oct. 21.

City staff say some scheduled aquafit classes, adult leisure swims, swim lane times and lessons are cancelled.

Early morning and late afternoon programs are still on.

The work was originally planned for the annual maintenance shutdown in late June, but it had to be postponed due to challenges with hiring a contractor.

The pool is expected to be back to regular hours on Nov. 8.
