Columbia Valley Chamber to host all-candidates forum

The Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce will host an all-candidates forum in Invermere next week.

Residents can head to David Thompson Secondary School at 6 p.m. on Oct 9.

“It’s a space for residents to connect with the candidates running in the 2024 provincial election,” said Pete Bourke, Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

Candidates will be asked two or three direct questions each along with two or three questions for all of them.

“There might be a little bit of time after for folks to chat directly with the candidates,” said Bourke.

“We won’t be taking any questions from the floor, but you can still connect with them before or after the forum.”

Questions can be submitted here until midnight on Oct. 6.

“We’re taking some questions online and trying to come up with the key themes that are the most pressing for the folks in this area,” said Bourke.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and the forum itself will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
