Rocky Mountain Rogues heading to Provincial Saratoga Cup Rugby Championship

The Rocky Mountain Rogues will look to defend their rugby dynasty in Terrace this weekend.

“I think everyone’s eager to take the cup from us,” said Tyler Halverson.

“We’re the third-time reigning champs and we’re going for four.”

He said the team will have their work cut out for them.

“I think it’s going to be a good battle between all the teams.”

There will be a guaranteed new champ in the women’s division this year with Kamloops RFC not making the cup.

Brook Janzer said they’re hoping their speed will make a difference.

“I would like to say we’re a pretty fast team. Our coach has been making us do a lot of fitness throughout the season,” she said.

“No breaks really through June, July and August. We’ve been doing fitness since day one.”

The Saratoga Cup runs from Aug. 17-18.
