Original: The Dogtooth FSR wildfire south of Golden has closed Highway 95 and prompted a number of evacuation orders.

The Town of Golden confirmed that there were several structures destroyed south of Canadian Timber Frames.

The fire jumped the highway closing it between Golden and Brisco.

Evacuation orders are in place for Malone Road, Parson River Crossing FSR, Thomas Road, 2048 Mitchell Road, 1955 Campbell Road, 2379 Campbell Road, 21466 Highway 95 and 2009 Chalmers Road.

BC Wildfire Service officials said crews are deploying sprinklers in areas of concern.

An area restriction has also been put in place around the fire.

A map of the restricted area can be found here.

The fire was discovered on July 22, has grown to at least 133 hectares and is now a wildfire of note.

The blaze is believed to be lightning-caused.
