Utility repairs underway at Coal Creek this week

Crews in Fernie will be doing utility repairs at the two mains that cross Coal Creek between the Pine Avenue Bridge and the CPKC Rail bridge.

Work starts on July 23 and will run until the 27th.

The contractor will be installing protective metal plates along concrete encasements that were damaged during the atmospheric river event in November of 2021.

The work site is near the popular Great Northern Trail and access to the trail will be controlled during construction.

Residents are asked to avoid the area during construction and follow all posted signage.
