Good Samaritan comes to the rescue when sailboat capsizes on Lake Windermere

A good Samaritan jumped into action when a sailboat capsized on Lake Windermere last Tuesday.

Columbia Valley RCMP officials said strong winds caused the boat to flip over, but the operator was unable to get it right side up.

RCMP officers were on the way to the scene on a police boat, but the situation was resolved in the meantime.

Police officials said another boater saw the incident and used their own boat to rescue the stranded person.
