Homelessness and social issues townhall set for June 26

The Mayor’s task force on homelessness, community safety and wellbeing will be hosting a townhall information session around the issues of homelessness in Cranbrook

It’s scheduled for Wednesday June 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Dwelling Place, at 2324 2nd Street South.

There is no need to RSVP as the space can hold up to 400 people.

The task force has developed a rules of engagement document that every member of the public attending the town hall is asked to follow.

If you want to speak you must provide your name and address and if you come forward with a problem you must also offer a solution.

“If there’s a group that wants to get out there and say we have a way better idea than you, I’d love to hear it and I’m not being cynical,” said mayor Wayne Price.

Copies of the rules and a frequently asked questions document will be provided to all attendees.
