Cranbrook’s St. Eugene Resort has undertaken a significant renovation of Casino of the Rockies, making a grand reveal of the refreshed and rejuvenated tourist destination on Friday.
St. Eugene Resort is holding the Grand Opening celebration on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 7:00 pm with live music performances from Neil Young and Alan Jackson tribute bands, Aaron Halliday, and Live Rust.
“Our casino has been completely re-imagined with a design inspired by nature,” said Barry Zwueste, CEO of St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino. “It is now brighter and livelier with a bold nature-based design concept that celebrates the Ktunaxa connection to the earth, and highlights native elements in their traditional territories.”
Beginning renovations on April 8, 2019, St. Eugene Resort remained operational through the majority of the renovations, needing brief closures to complete the required work.
A brand new, full-service restaurant concept called Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiǂ, which means “Good Food” in Ktunaxa, will add to St. Eugene Resort’s dining options. The gaming floor has been completed revamped with new ambient lighting, new floor games and slot machines, and new design elements “inspired by nature” and the Ktunaxa. As well, the renovations include a new welcoming lobby area including a guest services desk and a Grab and Go counter for visitors needing coffee or a quick snack.
“We are thrilled to launch a completely refreshed and updated Casino of the Rockies to our community and to our summer guests to complement world-class golf, hotel, RV and spa facilities,” said Zwueste. “We look forward to revealing the transformation of the casino to our guests and community members.”
