Cranbrook pitcher helping the Bandits before college season in Ohio

Cranbrook’s Edyn Barber is back in town helping the team he originally played for.

He said his time with the Cranbrook Bandits will help him coach the current team.

“I remember it all,” he said.

“The stuff I did wrong, the stuff I can help out the kids with and I want them to know there are bigger and better things to grow out of here.”

Barber recently committed to the University of Northwestern Ohio for the upcoming season.

He said learning under Bandits coach Paul Mrazek prepared him well for this step.

“I was very prepared and it was the baseball IQ that coach Mrazek teaches us so well,” said Barber.

“I felt ahead of the game and it was really comfortable for me.”

He’ll be working with him throughout the summer to get ready for the season ahead.

“He’s my guy and he’s my pitching coach,” he said.

“I wanted to make sure that I had a good space for me to grow here and we’ll be working side by side for when I’m ready to head off to Ohio.”

Barber is coming off a season with Northeastern Junior College in Colorado.
