Suspect behind Jaffray weapons complaint arrested

Elk Valley RCMP has safely arrested a man in connection with last week’s weapons complaint.

Police swarmed the South Country on Wednesday morning after a disturbance involving a weapon at a rural property near Baynes Lake.

RCMP officials believe the incident was a targeted attack, but no injuries were reported.

The man escaped before police could arrest him, kicking off a two-day search for the suspect.

Police officials said the 39-year-old man was safely found and arrested on Friday.

He is facing firearms, assault and driving-related charges.
