Collision north of Canal Flats claims one life

One man was killed in a crash north of Canal Flats over the weekend.

Columbia Valley RCMP officials said they were called about a serious collision along Highway 93/95, about five kilometres north of Canal Flats.

Investigators believe a northbound pickup truck crossed the center lane into the path of a southbound tractor-trailer truck.

The local man driving the pickup truck succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Investigators do not suspect alcohol or speed to be factors in the crash, but officials said driver fatigue may have contributed.
