Kimberley Alpine Resort Pens December 18th as Opening Day

The last of the region’s major ski resorts is scheduled to open next Wednesday, December 18th, as Kimberley Alpine Resort is making final preparations for opening day.

Kimberley Alpine Resort said they are looking to have the Northstar Express Quad Chair running to service both their Main Run and the Magic Carpet.

“Snowmaking crews have been taking advantage of recent cooler temperatures and working around the clock to make as much snow as they can to get the Main ready for opening,” said Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.

Fernie Alpine Resort was the first major ski resort to open this winter, as their opening day was back on Saturday, November 30th. Panorama Mountain Resort and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort have both been open for one full week, as they started their winter season on Friday, December 6th.
