Crews have fully cleared Highway 3 and the road is once again open to both lanes of traffic.

Drive BC reports that Highway 3 is now single lane alternating traffic after a semi-truck and trailer blocked both lanes of traffic at the rock cuts Thursday morning.
Elk Valley RCMP and emergency responders continue to assess the scene.
Motorists should continue to expect delays as crews work to clear the scene.

Highway 3 is closed in both directions at the rock cuts near Elko as a semi-trailer is currently blocking both lanes of traffic.
Elk Valley RCMP is currently responding to the scene, and informed MyEastKootenayNow.com that both lanes are blocked.
There isn’t any clear details at this time or when Highway 3 may fully reopen.
At this time, Highway 3 is completely impassible and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
