RDEK to host special meeting on Five-Year Financial Plan

The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) will host a special meeting to discuss its draft Five Year Financial Plan.

“Unlike a municipality that has one boundary and one set of taxpayers, different areas of the RDEK require different services which makes our full financial plan quite complex,” said RDEK Board Chair Rob Gay. “We have found that scheduling a separate meeting day to focus only on the Five-Year Financial Plan has been beneficial to both the Board and the public.”

The meeting is set to happen on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the RDEK office in Cranbrook.

RDEK officials said the meeting time will be posted on Feb 2 and all residents are able to attend.

It will also be live-streamed over Zoom and the link will be posted on Feb. 6.

“The meeting schedule and agendas for the budget meeting, and Committee and Board Meetings will be posted February 2 on the Agendas & Minutes tab at www.rdek.bc.ca,” said RDEK officials.
