With temperatures dropping next week, the City of Cranbrook is moving to Stage 2 water restrictions to allow the building of outdoor ice rinks.
City staff said water levels at the Phillips Reservoir have improved somewhat since Stage 3 restrictions were put in place in late August.
However, snow conditions in the watershed are extremely low compared to normal amounts.
Under Stage 2, water use is allowed twice a week. Even-numbered properties can use water Monday and Thursday while odd-numbered properties can use water Tuesday and Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The city is still asking residents to conserve as much water as possible inside and outside.
