A fire at the Knights Hall in Cranbrook has traffic halted along King Street.
The fire broke out early this morning and crews have been battling the blaze nonstop.
Fire department officials said they could not enter the building and had to take a defensive approach.
City of Cranbrook staff said the building continues to deteriorate and defensive firefighting tactics will be used until the fire is out.
At the time of the fire’s start, there was no heat or power in the
building due to a fire in November of 2022.
Crews are expected to be on scene for most of the day.
No injuries have been reported.
