Vehicle fire snuffed out in Columbia Valley

Earlier this week, the Columbia Valley RCMP responded to a vehicle fire along Highway 93.

Police said it was close to the Kootenay Crossing on Oct. 20.

A transport truck was on fire, but luckily the driver and passenger were able to exit the truck after successfully disconnecting it from the trailer.

That resulted in only the cab burning.

A Kootenay National Park ranger attended the scene and determined there was no danger of the surrounding forest igniting.
