BC Transit has added a new light-duty bus to the Columbia Valley transit system.
“The 26-foot light-duty ARBOC Spirit of Freedom bus can carry up to 21 seated passengers and provides flexibility for up to two mobility aids, such as wheelchairs,” said BC Transit officials.
Officials said the bus is equipped with a white LED destination sign that shows the bus number, route name, and destination.
The interior includes modern vinyl seating and improved lighting to make the ride more comfortable.
BC Transit officials said the bus cost $225,952 split between multiple entities.
“Funding was cost-shared through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), where eligible costs for infrastructure and fleet investments are shared between the Governments of Canada, the Province, local governments, and other partners,” said BC Transit.
