Elkford’s downtown core Phase 1 nears completion

Elkford’s 2023 Downtown Core Utilities Project is nearing completion.

District officials said this marks the end of Phase 1 of the Downtown Core Plan that was adopted in 2021.

Officials said the project is set to end on time and within its budget.

Work on Phase 1 included a number of improvements, such as:

  • Repaired potholes.
  • Upgrades to sewer, water and storm systems.
  • Increased parking access to businesses.
  • Completion of The Loop trail.
  • Safer roads and crossings from traffic-calming features.

“Our thanks to the crews of Copcan Civil LP, as well, for their dedication to getting the job done efficiently and thoroughly,” said district officials. “We hope you’re as excited as we are to enjoy these significant upgrades to Elkford’s infrastructure and all of these great improvements to the beautiful place that we call home.”
