Radium Hot Springs lifts stage two water restrictions

The Village of Radium Hot Springs has lifted stage two water restrictions but stage one remains in place.

Village officials loosened the restrictions on Monday.

“The restrictions were due to high turbidity coupled with high summer demand and the strain this put on the Village’s water treatment infrastructure and staff,” said officials. “While turbidity remains high, as we look toward fall, it is anticipated that demand should taper off.”

Village staff said this year’s water restrictions were a new step for the community.

“The restrictions of 2023 were the first ever extraordinary restrictions for Radium Hot Springs and Village administration learned a great deal during this period,” said officials.

Under stage one, residents with even-numbered addresses can water on even-numbered days while odd-numbered addresses can use water on odd-numbered days.

Watering times are from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight.
