Cranbrook RCMP investigating liquor store robbery

Police were called out to a robbery at a liquor store on Willowbrook Drive just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police learned that a man had entered the store and demanded the contents of the til.

After getting the cash, police say he grabbed a bottle of raspberry vodka and fled on foot.

He was last seen heading towards Superstore.

“The safety of the community and the public is the top priority for the Cranbrook RCMP, and efforts are on-going to identify and locate the suspect,” stated Sergeant Stu Hert, Operations NCO with the Cranbrook RCMP.

He’s described as wearing an off-white hoodie, a grey mask, blue jeans and a brown hat. He carried a grey bag with a black strap and has brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cranbrook detachment at 250-489-3471 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
