Renovations begin on Kimberley’s Platzl parking lot

Access to the main parking lot for Kimberley’s Platzl will be limited at times over the coming weeks as construction work begins.

City officials said renovation work began on Monday and will continue for about four weeks.

Work will involve the complete removal of existing surfaces, repaving and safety improvements.

The project will disrupt traffic over the course of construction.

“The project will take place in stages,” said Kimberley officials. “The City aims to retain access to the parking lot as much as possible, though there will be short periods where access will be limited or not allowed.”

“We look forward to the positive impact this project will have on our community’s vitality and we appreciate the patience and support of downtown businesses and residents during the construction phase,” said city officials.

The project is paid for by a $750,000 grant.
