Dynamiters Defeat Rockets to Continue Winning Streak

The Kimberley Dynamiters fended off the Golden Rockets at the Civic Centre on Tuesday to stretch their winning streak to seven games.

Brock Palmer was electric for the Dynamiters, scoring a hat-trick and adding two assists to contribute on every single one of Kimberley’s goals on Tuesday, helping them secure a 5-3 victory.

Palmer would give Kimberley an early 2-0 lead in the first period, but Golden would continue to fight, eventually tying the game 3-3 early in the third period following a power play goal from Liam Morris.

Only seconds later, Ryan Piva (1G, 3A) would score the game-winning goal for the Dynamiters while Brock Palmer would complete the hat-trick and seal the 5-3 win in the closing minutes.

Blake Pilon made 31 saves for Kimberley in the win as the Dynamiters narrowly outshot the Rockets 39-34.

Kimberley will look to keep their seven-game winning streak alive on Friday as the team travels to Fruitvale to battle the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, eventually returning home on Saturday to host the Columbia Valley Rockies at the Civic Centre at 7:00 pm.

Golden’s Friday night matchup with the Osoyoos Coyotes has since been delayed and pushed back to February 22nd as Golden Arena has been closed since Monday due to an “ammonia chiller failure” at the facility. The Town of Golden said the closure is
