Update: Police said fire crews were able to quickly action the blaze. The highway is open to a single lane and should be fully reopened soon.
Highway 3 east of Cranbrook is closed in both directions after a fire was sparked this afternoon.
Cranbrook RCMP officials said it is just east of Eager Hill Road.
BC Wildfire Service crews are en route to the fire.
There is no accurate information on the size at this time and the cause is undetermined.
