Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Cranbrook

Cranbrook RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a hit and run incident on Monday.

Around 12:00 pm, a 19-year-old woman was crossing the intersection of 4th Street North and Victoria Avenue in Cranbrook when she was hit by a car.

“The female states that when she was crossing, several vehicles had stopped but says that a vehicle came ‘from out of nowhere’ and struck her and then drove off,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron, with Cranbrook RCMP.

The pedestrian was taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital following the incident and was later released with minor injuries.
