St. Mary River fire ESS moved to Laurie Middle School

The Regional District of East Kootenay has moved the ESS Reception Centre to Laurie Middle School.

RDEK officials said the ESS will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

This will allow evacuees to renew their ESS supports.

The evacuation order for 36 homes in ʔaq̓am is still active, despite the fire classified as ‘being held.’
