Radium gets sedimentation pond funding to help with water quality

The Village of Radium Hot Springs will be installing a new sedimentation pond after receiving $2.5 million from the provincial government.

The project will involve the installation of the new pond as well as a new raw water intake and screening chamber at the Forster Creek source.

“The new water intake and sedimentation pond will improve water quality year-round in Radium Hot Springs,” Mayor Mike Gray.

“As our community grows, with average water use doubling during the summer months, these upgrades to our water supply systems will be vital to residents’ health and wellness.”

The project is supposed to be fully wrapped up by 2025.
