Road projects are underway in Fernie, with this year’s projects focusing on two aging roads in the Annex neighbourhood.
Work has started on 9th Street and traffic closures are in place.
Construction will move over to 11th Street, from 7th Avenue to 9th Avenue in the middle of August.
The work will consist of a new concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter improvements and grass boulevards between the roadway and the sidewalk as a buffer for pedestrian comfort, snow storage for winter and water absorption.
Drivers are asked to respect all posted signage and work crews until the project wraps up.
