Three new fires were discovered in our region over the weekend, but two are already under control.
The smallest blaze is located just north of the Canada/USA border west of Roosville.
It was discovered on Saturday.
The fire is approximately 0.1 hectares in size, under control and believed to be human-caused.
A 0.3-hectare blaze is also under control near the Bull River FSR. It was discovered on Saturday and is believed to be lightning-caused.
An out-of-control fire is burning near Yearling Creek east of Invermere.
It’s around 2.1 hectares and was discovered on Sunday.
It’s also believed to be lightning-caused.
A fourth fire was discovered on Monday. It’s out of control but still very small.
Its located along Willie Phillips Creek and the cause is still under investigation.
